Welcome to the Official Home on the Web of the
Tri-County Property Crime Task Force.

McGruff

The Tri-County Property Crime Task Force, the first of its kind in the State of Maine, has received a Byrne Memorial Grant which is a joint effort between District Attorney Norm Croteau, the approximately 189,000 citizens, and all 25 law enforcement agencies in the Maine counties of Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford to combat property crime.

A fundamental objective of this Task Force is to provide police assistance to all law enforcement agencies during multi-jurisdictional property crime investigations.

Police across the state have seen an 8% increase in property crime with
a Year 2000 property loss of $3 million and only a recovery rate of $1 million.

According to the Uniform Crime Reporting Index (UCR) for Androscoggin,
Oxford and Franklin counties for the year 2000, only 21% of stolen property,
excluding automobiles, was recovered in that year.
This average is significantly lower than the state average of 33.9%.

The Task Force would like to thank Oxford Networks
for their support in our fight against property crimes.
This web site could not be possible without their assistance and support.

Tips to law enforcement from the citizens of Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties,
